Wellness

"The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn the past, not to worry about the future, nor to anticipate troubles,
but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly"
---Buddha---

The Keys to Wellness

Growth
Growth is not optional, it is a necessity. Emotional, spiritual, and mental.
Continue to grow daily. Read something different. Try something new. Visit someplace you haven't been before. Listen to new music. Look at things with a different mind.

Diet
Listen to your body. Your body was created perfectly, everything working together in harmony. When you eat processed, and chemically treated foods that throw it out of balance do you suffer from sickness, illness, and disease. Obesity is number one leading cause of heart disease in the US. Smoking has dropped to number two!
Eat a minimum of 5 organic fruits and vegetables daily. Drink clean water. Avoid soda, and processed, packaged foods.

Exercise
Do anything, just start today, even a short walk around the block. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park farthest away from the mall, and walk briskly. Something is better than nothing.
Progress slowly, and soon you will find that you can easily walk 1/2-1 mile a day. Soon you be doing more. But the key is to start today, right now, this minute.
Make the choice in favor of YOU.

Stress
Stress is becoming a deadly problem. We stress about everything. But the amazing thing about stress is where it really is. Stress is not something that attacks us from outside ourselves, it is inside of us. We make it. So if we make it we can get rid of it.
There are many ways to reduce stress. Meditation, exercise, yoga, counseling, and music.
I have found that all of these work very well, and should be used daily.
But one thing I have found to greatly reduce stress in my life, is just decide
to not get stressed out. If we live from a place where we know that things are going to happen that will test us, and try to disrupt our lives, then when they happen we can accept them for what they are, just stuff that we have to deal with, nothing more. They are just small rocks in the path of life. Stay focused on the big rocks, and just step over the small ones.
